I wandered where the tall trees grow, No map, no plan, just the ground below. The branches reached like quiet hands, And all the noise slipped from my head.

In the dappled sunlight of the meadow, the black bear roams with regal grace. Its powerful presence exudes a quiet strength, yet its gentle demeanor reveals a nurturing spirit. As it pauses to sniff the wildflowers and forage for food, the bear imparts a lesson: true courage lies not just in might, but in the wisdom to tread softly. In this tranquil space, it embodies the harmony of strength and gentleness, reminding us that both are essential in life’s journey.

The yellow finchs are abundant this time of year. This photo was taken at the Nature Center. You'll see them by the dozens searching for seeds while I'm the midst of autumn.

Sunflowers are making their appearance across the Ozarks. The beautiful golden glow from the acres of sunflowers catches the eye and turns any head. They mark the end of summer and beginning of fall. Take a few minutes to appreciate the grand flowers...they won't last long.

The moon featured a halo I'm the Ozarks last night caused by the refraction and reflection of ice crystals suspended in the clouds that are at high altitudes. As light passes through the ice crystals it is bent at a 22 degree angle creating a halo of 22 degrees.

I love waking up to a blanket of snow covering the world outside. It makes my house seem that much more cozy, however I don't stay inside long. I am out capturing the soft and gleaming snow as it creates exquisite contrast with whatever it surrounds. Here are a few photos from the heavy snow we got in the Ozarks earlier this week.

As the largest snow in a long while dropped on the Ozarks, I came across this beautiful scene and reflection alongside Zell Road in Billings. The air was cool and still. What I love about snowy days, is the quiet softness the blanket of snow brings.

I stopped by Lake Springfield during the early morning. It is an excellent time and location to see flocks of ducks splashing about and noisely chatting amongst themselves. On the morning I visited, portions of the lake were still frozen over and a few of the ducks took the opportunity to skid, slide, and skate on it as if they were in the winter Olympics. It was a delight to sit outside in the crisp air, watch the sunrise, and let the ducks entertain.

Never forget yesterday, But always live for today. You never know what tomorrow can bring, Or what it can take away. Along with photography I enjoy sharing quotes and writing poetry, therefore, many of my posts will include thought provoking and creative words to go along with my photos.   This sunrise photo was taken from a farm road between Rogersville and Springfield. The texture and color of the clouds were magnificent as they spread across the sky. I felt as though I was chasing the sunrise as I hunted for a good location to capture the view. The colors of a sunrise can quickly dissipate as the sun climbs higher in the sky, so if unprepared the opportunity may be easily missed.
